SUMMARY:The Principles of Pruning..... A Beginners Guide
DESCRIPTION:Most of us have a huge fear around pruning in our gardens. \n“What if I cut off the wrong piece”??\, “What if I kill my granny’s rose”? \nAs a result\, we often avoid the whole area\, and allow our gardens to become a tangled mess. \nThe first book I bought on pruning didn’t do anything to allay these fears. The text and diagrams made the task look all very doable. However\, when I went out to the garden armed with my secateurs\, my plants didn’t look anything like the examples in the book. \n\nI think what finally got me over the crippling fear and gave me a willingness to tackle the job in hand\, was answering the following question: \n“What are my reasons for pruning (or not) any given tree/shrub?? \nThe answers to this question are many and varied and it is these same questions which we will tackle in this workshop. \n \nJoin me and learn the basics\, where you will take the secateurs into your hand\, “feel the fear” and despite that fear\, get pruning! \nWe will also look at the use and care of the various tools needed for the job.
